What a year 2020 was! Despite all of it's challenges, it delivered some absolutely amazing scope options.
Shout out to Scoped Out for the optics.
14 months ago I was given an amazing gift, but I'm yet to be able to shoot it, thanks to a series of issues around brass supply. While I'm waiting, its time to get back into shooting centrefires.
I did 5 consecutive dry fire sessions over 5 days, and this is what I learnt (It was a lot.) I highly suggest you do this.
This is the rifle I've been using for the rimfire matches in 2020.
The finishing touches on the shed all went in, next will be the reloading gear. Stay tuned for that one!
It was our last match of the year, and I was match director. I didn't really spend much time on my shooting, but we bumped up the stage times, the round count, and it was a good day!
We had planned to compare the new Hornady Auto Charge Pro and the V3 Autotrickler, but this was pretty much a David vs Goliath situation if David wasn’t so good with a sling shot, blind and missing both arms.
Having said that, at a third the price, or less, is the Hornady good enough for most people?
I shot another match!
Time to break down what happened, and see what I need to work on next. Certainly have my work cut out for me.
Today was the day. We were going to finish the shed off!
And then...
SA LOCKDOWN.
I attempted to get one side of the shed finished. Time will tell if I've ruined the house or not. At least it's finished!
Highlights (and lowlights) from the last rimfire match at Practical Shooting SA. Match breakdown coming soon!
I got to the range early before the match this day and had a chance to go through some pre-match prep.
What steps do you take before a match?
We have 2 new rifles at Practical Shooting SA, and need your help naming them. Submit your suggestions for both names below by the 30th of November 2020. Whoever's name we choose at the December club match will win a Merch pack with shirts, hats, vouchers and whatever else we can get together!
We got to the range for a practice session to start working on the areas I suck at. Shout out to Maxwell for joining me in this one.
One of the most common questions I get is 'what scope should I buy'? There are so many good options around, but here are 4 'MUST HAVES' that I think set the base level for a scope destined for a PRS rifle.
What do you think is important?
Full Disclosure: Rusty has a stake in Scoped Out. This information in this video is not specific to a particular model or brand, but the models that are mentioned are listed by Scoped Out.
We get started on the shed. This is probably going to be a longer process than I expected. Any suggestions?
